Bicycle Suspension Technician

We are searching for an experienced bicycle suspension shop manager to join the growing team at Diaz Suspension Design in Durango, Colorado. As a suspension service, custom tuning, and upgrade component manufacturer, we are searching for candidates that are well versed in suspension repair, maintenance, customer service, and service writing. Compensation based on experience.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily shop operations and suspension technician team

  • Evaluate incoming products for service, repair, and custom tuning

  • Fork, shock and dropper post service, repair, and custom tuning

  • Ensure proper function and quality standards

  • Communicate with clients, provide estimates and resolve issues

  • Traffic controller for new repair requests

  • Check in newly arriving repairs

  • Coordinate sourcing of parts and supplies

  • Document and invoice repairs

  • Improve systems for increased efficiency

  • Assemble, test, and quality check new parts for sale

  • Coordinate shipping and receiving when necessary

  • Well organized

  • Knowledgeable in bicycle industry trends

  • High level of attention to detail

    • Handles details meticulously and makes very few mistakes

    • Follows instructions carefully and flawlessly

    • Ability to check one’s own work

    • Notices abnormalities in the products in for service and have the ability to recommend best solution

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

    • Clear and concise service writing

    • Ability to translate highly technical information to customers

  • Must be resourceful and able to follow an established procedure

    • Must have the ability to actively look for alternative possibilities/solutions

    • Willingness to investigate further and perform one’s own research 

  • Ability to read technical drawings/ engineering documents

  • Ability to use tools properly without damaging products

  • Proficient in general computer function as well as Outlook, Excel, Word and Google Suite

  • Experience with Lightspeed Retail is a plus

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs or more
